I painted this piece thinking about a woman who knows herself. She doesn’t need to be loud to be powerful, and she doesn’t need anyone else to tell her who she is. There’s softness, confidence, culture and a little bit of mystery in her.
The messy lines and different colours are part of her story not everything has to be neat to be beautiful. Sometimes the most beautiful parts of us come from the things we’ve been through.
